Hey Look! Pictures!

So I'm going to to add some pictures of the process of making all the clay pictures. And to start it off, some pics of all the finished pictures. They are all in plastic to avoid dust damage.

222!

This week has been a bit of a whirlwind for me! I was featured on our local radio station and website this week, giving CLAY-B-Cs some awesome publicity. Click here to check it out!
And because of that, I was also interviewed on CBC Radio Noon in Winnipeg. Quite the experience for me!

I'm now looking at how to actually market this app so that it won't just disappear into the vast abyss that is the App Store. Marketing and promotions is not in my area of strength and I did not realize how difficult it would be to get the word out on my app once it was done! I think it might be different if I was working for a company that had developed this app. But it's just me!

I am incredibly thankful for the 200+ people that have bought the app already, and I hope that they will like it and share it with people they know (and give it a rating on iTunes)...

Submitted to the App Store...

I figured that I should update this blog before I let anybody read it! The app is done and submitted to the app store(on Saturday). Hopefully all the bugs have been fixed and I can stop agonizing over code for awhile. I am now awaiting the verdict from Apple. So nervous!
All my plasticine pictures have taken over the house, laying on every available flat surface. I still have to figure out what to do with them now that I'm all done!

The waiting continues....

Introduction

Hey!
As a summer project and a bit of a challenge for myself, I decided that I wanted to learn how to program an app to be sold in the Apple App Store. It will initially be available on the iPhone/iPod but hopefully will update to include iPad. But I didn't want to start with something that would be very complicated to program, so I came up with the idea for an interactive children's book.
So I settled on the idea of creating an alphabet book. And I began to create the pictures on my computer, attempting to create fun and creative visuals for the pages. However, my lack of skill in drawing began to frustrate me. But my sister solved this issue for me. She suggested that I make the pictures out of clay because I have worked with plasticine before. I was hesitant because I knew that this would be a very long and tedious process. But I'm very happy that I went with her idea, because I'm really happy with how the pictures look so far!
As I began working on the pictures, I also began playing around with xcode, trying to learn what I needed in order to make this happen.
